Private Sector Consortiums

Benecon is the industry leader in the design and administration of health benefit purchasing consortiums for private sector employers.  Through the Benecon consortium model, employers join together for economies of scale and cost efficiencies in a self funded environment while maintaining their own benefit plan design, employee contribution structure and rates.  Following are descriptions of current consortiums designed and administered by Benecon:

Genesis Healthcare Consortium – A consortium developed in 2010 by Benecon in partnership with Gunn Mowery Insurance and marketed to Central Pennsylvania employers.

Keystone Benefits Partners (KBP) – A consortium developed in 2009 by Benecon in partnership with E. K McConkey & Co. The target market includes qualified companies located in Pennsylvania, Delaware and Maryland.

Eagle Health Trust (EHT) – A consortium developed in 2009 by Benecon for organizations serving persons with mental or physical disabilities.  Membership in EHT is open to any member of the Pennsylvania Association of Resources.

Retirement Community Health Plan of Pennsylvania (RCHPP) - A consortium developed in 2009 by Benecon in partnership with LR Webber Associates.  RCHPPA is a Pennsylvania statewide consortium of retirement communities sponsored by LeadingAge PA. Membership is open to any retirement community which is a member of LeadingAge.

Bankers Health Care Consortium of Pennsylvania (BHCC of PA) - A consortium developed in 2007 by Benecon in partnership with LR Webber Associates.  BHCCPA is a Pennsylvania statewide consortium of private banks affiliated with the Pennsylvania Bankers Association. Membership is open to any bank which is a member of the PBA.

Lehigh Valley Association of Independent Colleges Health Insurance Consortium (LVAIC HIC), - A consortium developed by Benecon in 2007 and sponsored by the Lehigh Valley Association of Independent Colleges.  Membership is open to any LVAIC member institutions.

Shared Services Health Plan Trust (SSHPT) - A consortium developed by Benecon in 2009.  SSHPT is an approved multi-employer welfare arrangement (MEWA) sponsored by the Shared Services Consortium LLC. Membership is open to independent colleges and universities throughout Pennsylvania.

Veris Benefits Consortium - A consortium developed in 2011 by Benecon and marketed nationwide by selected broker partners.  Membership in Veris is open to any mid size employer group.
